Include your device model, iOS version, Bean version, and a short description of what happened. Please leave out private photos, recordings, and details about your child unless they are necessary to your request.
Speak a word or build a sentence
Tap a picture to speak its word. To put words together first, turn on Build Sentences in Settings, then select your words and choose Speak. Your sentence stays while you browse categories.
Add a familiar photo or new tile
Choose the add button, then Add Tile. Enter a word or phrase, choose a group, and select a photo. Drag and pinch to choose a square crop, then save the tile. New tiles are also added to the voice recording flow.
Record your own voice
Open Settings → My Recordings → Add Your Voice. Record a word, stop, and listen back. Re-record or continue to the next word. You can save your progress and return later. Missing recordings use the selected system voice.
Make room for little hands
Choose a tile size in Settings. Touch & Focus includes options for repeated taps and extra fingers, along with Apple’s Guided Access guidance. Guided Access is controlled by iOS and can help keep a device in one app.
If you don’t hear a word
Check the device volume and audio output, including connected Bluetooth headphones or speakers. If you selected a recorded voice, try Playback in My Recordings. Check Bean’s microphone permission in Apple’s Settings app if a new recording is silent.
Before deleting Bean
Personal photos, recordings, and custom groups are saved locally. Deleting the app can delete that data from the device, so check your backups first. Our team cannot restore content from your device.
